Accounts Receivable Specialist Role Overview

The Accounts Receivable Specialist will focus on collections, payment processing, and building strong client relationships while contributing to the financial health of the organization. This role is key in managing large past-due balances in a construction / MEP environment.

Responsibilities of the Accounts Receivable Specialist

Manage collections with professional, tactful outreach on past-due invoices

Support outstanding receivables under a construction billing model

Prepare and issue client invoices, reconcile corporate credit cards, and generate AR-related financial reports

Process incoming payments, assist with payment plan creation, and forecast cash / collection trends

Strengthen customer relationships through consistent, personable communication

Participate in month-end tasks, including reconciliations and journal entries as needed

What We're Looking For

Accounts Receivable Specialist with prior collections experience, ideally in construction, engineering, or architecture

Experience with Deltek software is a plus!

Degree is not required, but prior AR experience in a professional services or project-based environment is ideal

Strong organizational skills, customer service mindset, and ability to manage multiple priorities
