Superintendent - Commercial Construction

General Description

The project superintendent is responsible for all field activities on a project. The superintendent reports to the project manager and is onsite full-time.

Major Duties and Responsibilities :

• Provide full time day-to-day supervision on site, coordinating all work of subcontractor's and own forces.
• Creates and monitors the project CPM schedule, and uses the schedule as a tool to manage the project. Determines the sequencing of work activities and manages subcontractors to follow the sequence.
• Monitors trade work to ensure it meets the requirements of the drawings and specs.
• Manages the jobsite safety program, including safety walk-throughs, and makes field crews accountable for adherence to the safety program.
• Conduct weekly coordination meetings with subcontractors.
• Manage subcontractors to ensure that the full scope of work is completed per their contract.
• Understand the project budget and ensure accurate cost coding and management of labor and material costs.
• Maintain daily log of project activities.
• Close-out project including punch-list, finalization of subcontract values, assist in the negotiation of final owner change orders, building commissioning, etc.
