The incumbent manages, writes, and tracks all Reconditioning, PDI, and Inventory Recall activities. Responsible for communication, work allocation, supervision and training of a team of Technicians and Porters to ensure an efficient and compliant reconditioning process. The role ensures efficient and timely processing of used vehicle reconditioning, PDIs, and recall completion for all New / Used vehicles, supporting AutoNation's four-day turnover target. The RPR goals are to produce increased Used Vehicle Gross and monthly sales by delivering high quality, front-line ready vehicles online, and to increase After-Sales internal gross by managing Recall, Reconditioning and PDI processes.
What are the day-to-day responsibilities?
- Responsible for all internal repair orders written for PDI, CPO, New / Used Required Recalls and reconditioning service for all used vehicles.
- Participate in service and sales team meetings to provide updates on prior day performance.
- Maintain a schedule of Reconditioning / PDI Service Technician and Porter absences for training, vacation or personal reasons to assure proper staffing to meet work demands.
- Identify all store inventory with open recalls and schedule / complete when parts are available.
- Liaise with parts / service teams for timely recall completion. For non-brand products, liaise with other company stores selling the brand or non-company stores for recall completion.
- Conduct a walk-around inspection with Used Car Manager of all store-owned vehicles prior to recon to identify the type of inspection / certification required to meet AutoNation Appearance Standards.
- Create a comprehensive estimate based on inspection and technician findings, including the specific work required, total cost and timing prior to work being performed.
- Communicate via RPR Compass (when available) to obtain approval for additional work as needed.
- Ensure repairs are on a single repair order and closed by the next business day of work completion.
- Manage all Reconditioning within After-Sales Compass RPR system, maintaining status for all vehicles.
- Ensure best parts options and correct price are used for all recon work; ensure appropriate labor time and sale amount per approved labor time guide.
- Ensure each CPO criterion is fulfilled, consistent with OEM and AutoNation standards.
- Manage Reconditioning Vendor relationships to improve quality, cycle time, and timely invoices.
- Demonstrate behaviors consistent with the Company's Vision, Mission, and Values in all interactions with customers, co-workers, and suppliers.

Pay range of $15-$30 / hour
