Deputy Director, Demand Forecasting And Scenario Development
The Deputy Director assists the Director of the Energy Assessments Division in all aspects of the division's deliverables including principal policy making authority over demand forecasting, demand scenario development, and other administrative responsibilities. The Deputy Director functions in the place of and as an extension of the Director. The Deputy Director supports all aspects of the division's roles and responsibilities, including working with and directing division staff and engaging with internal and external stakeholders. In addition, the Deputy Director has a responsibility to manage and interact with division branch managers, supervisors, and staff regarding the division's analysis, and to provide oversight and management of the division's deliverables, policies, and administrative and budget functions.
This position provides hybrid telework opportunities. Beginning July 1, 2025, employees may be required to work in-person four days per week under the Energy Commission's telework policy currently under development as required by Executive Order N-22-25 and current CalHR guidance. CEC will review requests for exemptions on a case-by-case basis, with consideration to operational needs and the benefits of in-person interaction. Teleworking is only available for employees who reside in California. You must be located in California and provide your in-state address prior to your start date. Regular and consistent attendance is essential to successful performance. Occasional travel may be required based on the needs of the division.
