CFS is partnering with a reputable and growing company in South Bend to hire a detail-oriented and reliable Payroll Specialist . This position is key to ensuring all employees are paid accurately, on time, and in compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.

The Payroll Specialist will manage payroll processing from start to finish, collaborate with HR and finance teams, and support audits and reporting. This role is ideal for someone who is highly organized, tech-savvy, and enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Position : Fully in-office in South Bend, IN | Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8 : 00am - 5 : 00pm

Key Responsibilities of the Payroll Specialist

Process weekly or bi-weekly payroll for all employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance

Maintain payroll records, employee data, and timekeeping information within payroll systems

Review and verify hours worked, bonuses, commissions, wage adjustments, and deductions

Ensure compliance with payroll tax laws, wage and hour regulations, and reporting requirements

Respond to employee questions regarding pay, deductions, direct deposits, and payroll policies

Prepare and reconcile payroll-related reports for finance and HR teams

Assist with payroll tax filings, quarterly reporting, and year-end forms (W-2, 1099, etc.)

Support internal and external audits by providing payroll data and documentation

Qualifications for the Payroll Specialist

Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, HR, or related field preferred

2+ years of payroll processing experience required

Proficiency with payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Paychex, Workday, or similar) and Microsoft Excel

Strong knowledge of payroll laws, tax compliance, and reporting requirements

Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism

Strong communication skills and ability to work cross-functional
