Tri-State Construction, Inc. is seeking a detail-driven and experienced Accounting & Payroll Specialist - Construction to manage and maintain all aspects of accounting and financial operations. This part-time role offers flexibility, autonomy, and the opportunity to work directly with company leadership to ensure the financial health of our projects and business.

Key Responsibilities
- Maintain accurate general ledger and financial records
- Handle accounts payable and receivable; ensure timely vendor payments and collections
- Process payroll and maintain up-to-date employee records
- Prepare monthly financial statements and job cost reports
- Manage bank reconciliations and credit card transactions
- Complete progress billing (AIA forms) and track retainage
- Monitor project budgets and track job-specific expenses
- Coordinate with project managers on purchase orders and change orders
- Prepare and file sales tax reports, 1099s, and other compliance documents
- Communicate with CPA on year-end closings and tax prep
- Maintain subcontractor insurance certificates and compliance documentation
Qualifications
3-5+ years of construction bookkeeping / accounting experienceProficiency with QuickBooks (Desktop or Online) and Microsoft ExcelStrong understanding of job costing and construction billing methodsExcellent attention to detail, time management, and organizationAbility to work independently and manage multiple prioritiesStrong communication and problem-solving skillsBenefits
