American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for night shifts caring for cardiovascular and progressive care patients, requiring at least 2 years of recent experience and a WV or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a telemetry unit of a short-term acute care and Level IV trauma teaching hospitalCare for pre / post op cardiovascular, medical cardiac, vascular, amputee, and detox patients requiring progressive monitoringPatient ratios are typically 1 : 4, with 1 : 5 possible during staffing challenges, and LPN support on the unitHandles procedures such as IV starts, ostomies, chest tubes, wound vacs / care, central lines, PICCs, CPAP / BiPAP, and manages cardiac dripsThree or four 12-hour night shifts (7 : 00pm-7 : 00am), with every other weekend requiredFloating within clinical scope may be required to meet facility needsUses Cerner for charting; Cerner experience preferredBlocked schedule requests may be accommodatedMust live more than 100 miles from facility; 75-99 miles considered on a case-by-case basisPrimary responsibilities include providing specialized care and monitoring to cardiac and surgical patients on a telemetry unitMay supervise and assist LPNs depending on caseload and staffingTeam-oriented environment with LPN support and a focus on quality patient careRoyal blue or white scrubs required for RNsFree parking available for travelersModules must be completed prior to start; average completion time is 2–4 hours and modules are recorded on a certificateFirst-time travelers are welcome to applyHoliday coverage as assigned may be requiredFormer perm employees must wait two years after last employed date before returning as travelersNot eligible if currently employed by the facility or any Vandalia Health System member\n \n Requirements\n
Active WV or compact RN license in hand or pending at time of considerationMinimum 2 years of recent telemetry or progressive care RN experience requiredBLS certification required; MAB preferredStrong skills in telemetry monitoring, IV starts, and progressive care proceduresClean license required; cases with past issues considered individuallyFlu vaccine required during flu season unless medically exemptMust provide two manager or charge references from the past two years\n Benefits\n
