Facilities Maintenance Technician

Position Summary :

The Facility Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the safe, efficient, and reliable operation of all building systems and equipment within the facility. This role involves performing routine maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and minor construction tasks to maintain the facilitys infrastructure in optimal condition. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical aptitude, knowledge of electrical, plumbing, HVAC systems, and a commitment to workplace safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities :

• Perform routine inspections and troubleshooting on building systems including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, lighting, and mechanical equipment.
• Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely and efficient manner.
• Assist with coordination, installation, modification, and repair of facility infrastructure and equipment.
• Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts inventory.
• Ensure compliance with safety regulations and company policies during all maintenance activities.
• Coordinate with external contractors and vendors as needed for specialized repairs or services.
• Support emergency maintenance and facility shutdowns as required.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of maintenance tools, equipment, and work areas.
• Assist in training junior maintenance staff or new hires when applicable.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance facility operations and maintenance processes.
• Basic Carpentry and Painting Skills.
• Knowledge of safety standards such as OSHA regulations.
• Furniture and Equipment Assembly as needed.
• Supporting the Garden of Eatin by assisting with pruning and tree trimming and general gardening support including irrigation.
• Cleaning and repairing & maintaining outside pay equipment.

This position is a central position for the Brayton Campus, maintenance team at NBCC. The Maintenance Tech must have strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work with a number of colleagues both internally (Programs Personnel & Enrollment and Development Departments and administration) as well as externally (State, County, and School District Employees).
