Open Rank Faculty Position in Classical (Non-Malignant) Hematology

The University of Virginia (UVA) Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology / Oncology, invites applications for an Open Rank, Open Track faculty position specializing in classical (non-malignant) hematology . Academic rank and tenure status will be determined based on qualifications and experience.
About the Program
The UVA Classical Hematology Program is a dedicated multidisciplinary team providing expert care for patients with a wide range of benign hematologic disorders, including :
Hemostasis and thrombosis disorders
Anemias and platelet disorders
Bone marrow failure syndromes
Myeloproliferative neoplasms
Other rare hematologic diseases
While the focus of this position is non-malignant hematology , there is flexibility to incorporate malignant hematology based on the candidate s clinical interests and expertise.
Position Overview
The successful candidate will :
Provide outstanding clinical care to adult patients in both inpatient consultation and outpatient settings
Contribute to the division s academic mission through clinical and / or translational research
Actively participate in medical education , including teaching and mentorship of medical students, residents, fellows, and advanced practice providers
Qualifications
MD or equivalent degree required
Board Certified / Board Eligible in Hematology; Internal Medicine board certification strongly encouraged
Demonstrated interest and experience in academic medicine, research, and / or medical education
Strong clinical skills in classical (non-malignant) hematology
Eligibility to work in the United States
