The expected salary for this position ranges from $121,500 to $135,000, commensurate with experience.
PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION
You will engage in advanced technical and engineering problem-solving in support of our power plant operations, making responsible technical decisions. A deep understanding of functional discipline and its practical applications, along with an extensive knowledge of industry codes and regulations, is essential.
PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Conduct advanced technical and engineering problem-solving to support power plant operations, ensuring technical decisions meet operational needs.
- Offer technical expertise and direct involvement to identify and resolve system issues, completing the necessary training to develop expert-level knowledge in designated areas.
- Mentor and guide other engineers, providing leadership in key skills development.
- Execute assigned engineering and technical projects, adhering to general engineering principles.
- Ensure timely completion of work, maintaining quality standards in design criteria, practices, procedures, and codes in planning and specifications.
- Conduct independent research, reviews, studies, and analyses to support technical projects and initiatives.
- Provide recommendations for equipment and new techniques that enhance performance, simplify processes, reduce costs, or ensure compliance with regulations.
- Fulfill additional duties as assigned, including coverage responsibilities and supporting outage activities as necessary.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline (Computer Science, Engineering, etc.) plus 5 years of power experience, ORAssociate’s degree in a technical discipline with 7 years of related technical experience, ORHigh school diploma / GED with 8 years of power experience, with at least 5 years at the exempt level.Strong working knowledge of engineering processes and systems relevant to the functional area.Ability to maintain unescorted access requirements and favorable medical examination / test results as per role obligations.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Non-engineering Bachelor’s degree or an advanced technical degree.Experience with Electrical / Mechanical and / or Digital Relays is highly preferred.Field experience with Protective Relays is highly preferred.
