Patient Account Representative

Location : On-site, M-F 8 : 30AM-5 : 00PM

The Patient Account Representative is responsible for ensuring timely and accurate reimbursement for medical services by managing insurance claims from submission to resolution. This role involves partnering with insurance carriers, monitoring claim status, processing denials and appeals, and maintaining accurate documentation to support the revenue cycle process.

Key Responsibilities :

Follow up on outstanding insurance claims to ensure prompt and complete payment.

Review, correct, and resubmit claims as needed, with a strong focus on Indiana Medicaid billing requirements.

Process appeals for denied or underpaid claims and work directly with payers to resolve discrepancies.

Maintain accurate documentation in billing systems and prepare reports for outstanding accounts.

Collaborate with billing teams, providers, and payers to resolve issues and support smooth revenue operations.

Qualifications :

3+ years of experience in medical billing, accounts receivable, or insurance claims processing.

Strong understanding of payer requirements, claim follow-up, and denial management.

Experience with Indiana Medicaid and familiarity with payer portals (e.g., Availity, Navinet).

Proficiency with EMR systems (NextGen PM or Epic preferred).

Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
