The Georgia Department of Revenue (DOR) is seeking a Division Director to lead the Local Government Services Division (LGS). The Division Director oversees the operational and programmatic activities of Property Tax Administration, Local Tax Distributions, and Unclaimed Property and is charged with the administration of :
This role provides leadership and strategic planning for assigned areas and programs; develops and establishes operational best practices and procedures consistent with policies of DOR and the State of Georgia; implements the strategic direction of assigned areas and programs in alignment with the state and DOR's overall strategic objectives; oversees and monitors financial functions of assigned areas; analyzes a variety of administrative operational, and fiscal matters; and formulates recommendations and proposals for problem resolution.

The ideal candidate will be able to :
Entry Qualifications : Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in a related field AND six years of experience managing professional level staff ~ OR Ten years of related professional experience with six years of experience managing at the level equivalent to the area of assignment ~ OR Six years of experience at the (Assistant Director) or equivalent position NOTE : An equivalent combination of education and job-specific experience that provide the knowledge, experience, and competencies required to successfully perform the job at the level listed may be substituted on a year-over-year basis.
Required Skills & Experience : Experience adapting to changes in business objectives and leveraging relationships to achieve short-term and long-term objectives. Demonstrated ability to work with others to lead and affect process changes and improvements. Demonstrated success managing operational and programmatic activities at the Senior Manager level or above. Experience effectively directing the work of others to train and evaluate the productivity and performance of team members. Experience developing budget projections, implementing programs, and monitoring strategies.
Preferred Qualifications : Project Management experience. Experience working as a Georgia County / Local Tax Official, or a county or jurisdiction in another state. Experience making presentations in public forums which would include public speaking, administrative hearings and courtroom testimony, and training environments. Leadership experience within a government office. Appraisal IV certification with Georgia Certification Program. International Association of Assessing Officers appraisal designation and / or Georgia Real Estate Appraisal Board license. Experience as a Georgia Certification Program Instructor. Experience with Integrated Tax Systems.
