Maintenance Mechanic - rd shift!

Equipment : High speed packaging and processing equipment dealing with the beverage manufacturing industry.
Certs and training : An industrial electrical and mechanical degree would be optimal, however electrical certs and schools would help.
Physical requirements : They need to be able to climb ladders, go up steps, work in hot and cold environments, and work on their feet most of the shift, all while wearing PPE and hair nets and beard nets.
Education : Ok with GED for this position.
PLC vs Electrical : The primary need is electrical and mechanical knowledge in the capacity related to the equipment listed earlier. PLC knowledge is not required, but when it is listed on the resume, we will ask questions to get an idea of their level of expertise in that area.
Questions during interview :
We go off of their resume and start with that.
We ask general questions of what show they know and what would they do if called to a line breakdown; we would ask their thought process to troubleshoot the issue to a root cause.
We don't ask direct mathematical electrical questions like, (what would the wattage off of a v machine that that has resistance of Ohms).
We are looking for them to explain how they would troubleshoot equipment they have listed on their resume.
When asked probing questions regarding "How would you test it or how do you do that? " shows how much they know.
People that are comfortable with this line of work and have done it and know it answer very easily.
Performs skilled maintenance and repairs services of facility systems such as mechanical, electrical and building systems; ability to interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Responsible for trouble shooting and providing immediate preventative and corrective maintenance support to production lines and facilitating change-over.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems and perform immediate repairs and preventative
- Maintenance on equipment.
- Overhaul and install new equipment.
- Rebuild and fabricate parts.
- Perform facility maintenance and maintain clean and safe work area.
- Generate parts request to ensure adequate inventory.
- Generate and complete work orders as assigned.
- Perform equipment change-overs and production line set ups.
Minimum Qualifications :
Vocational certification preferred.years of industrial maintenance experience required.years of mechanical / electrical experience preferred.Prior diagnostic / troubleshooting and preventative maintenance experience preferred.Previous experience within high-speed industrial environment.Demonstrated mechanical and technical aptitude.Basic computer skills.Ability to follow manufacturer's specifications and schematics.Programmable Logic Control (PLC) knowledge preferred.Responsibilities and Job Duties :
Actively participates as a self-directed and committed member of a team and working with other team members to achieve the department and plant goals and objectives.Carries out responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies, procedures, and state, federal and local laws.Troubleshoots or performs necessary repairs to maintain the operation of equipment and systems in the areas of responsibilities such as process and packaging equipment, warehouse, electrical distribution, instrumentation, treated water and waste water treatment facilities.Installs machinery and equipment as required.Develops PM / REPAIR tasks and enters them into SAP-PM database.Enters all work performed and parts used in SAP-PM database.Performs preventative maintenance on production machinery and facilities according to PM schedules.Actively audit plant equipment and participates in the process of ordering, inventory and stocking of spare parts.Performs general maintenance including, basic electric, plumbing and fabricates and installs parts when necessary, and documents all repair or maintenance work done on any equipment using SAP system. Prepare reports as needed.Maintains effectiveness when experiencing major changes in work tasks or the work environment; adjusts effectively to work within new work structures, processes or requirements.Assists in training and coaching other associates.Performs related duties as assigned.
