6-week schedule A Brief Overview : The Staff Nurse will deliver safe
and compassionate nursing care for all patient populations by
planning, implementing, and evaluating the patient plan of care.
The Staff Nurse will collaborates with nurses, physicians, and
other members of the clinical team to ensure optimal patient
outcomes and continuity of care. Regularly performs duties of
professional nurse which includes assessing patients' condition,
developing and administrating patient plan of care, documenting
care administered, and evaluating patient care outcomes. Warmly
welcomes patients to the unit. Promotes and maintains a safe,
therapeutic milieu by providing appropriate supervision and
feedback to the other direct care staff. Interacts with the
patient, the patient's family, and the appropriate health care
providers to collect and analyze data regarding the patient's
physical, psychosocial, environmental, self-care, educational, and
anticipated discharge planning needs. Participates in development
of interdisciplinary planning process. Ensures that medical
problems are incorporated into the treatment plan. Assists in the
development and attainment of nursing department goals and
objectives; Assists in the selection and orientation of qualified
personnel to provide optimum patient care; serves as a role model
and central resource person for students; explains and clarifies
utilizes opportunities with community groups to further their
knowledge and understanding of mental health problems. supervises
direct patient care as required; works within budgetary constraints
to include staffing, use of overtime and use of supplies and
equipment. Maintain information as highly confidential Nursing
degree Education, Skills and / or Experience Preferred : One-year
psychiatric experience Basic knowledge of abnormal psychology as
typically found in the psychiatric population Familiarity with
management of a therapeutic level system and understanding of
system of rewards and consequences License / Certification Required :
Current State of Illinois Registered Nurse license Current CPR
Certification issued by either American Heart Association or Red
Cross CPI (Crisis Prevention Intervention) certification within 90
