Graceland Fruit, Inc. Pay Range

Base pay $17.00 / hr - $19.00 / hr. Actual pay based on skills and experience.

Job Title : Evaporator Tech

Wage Range : $16.50 / hr plus $2 / hr Night Shift Premium (if applicable). Department : Production – Forrester Rd. Job Grade :

Reports to : Production Supervisor.

Job Summary

Monitor and operate evaporators based on performance data to maintain optimum capacity at all times.

Deliverables

Produce syrup that meets production goals or is directed by management.

Job Requirements

Become qualified in chemical training, lock-out / tag-out process, computer data entry, process testing within one month of hire.

High-level verbal and written communication skills.

Ability to troubleshoot, assist repairs, understand system flow, trace flow path, monitor process set points, react to alarms, record and review data, interpret data, work flexible days and hours, work holidays and weekends on rotating shift schedule.

Essential Functions

Actively monitor all control points.

Adjust settings or established parameters based on data.

Maintain adequate level of infusion syrup in storage tanks, record BRIX / level data in DAQ.

Active testing and reporting BRIX and Acid data.

Responsible for startup and shutdown.

Responsible for CIP of systems and associated equipment; record data while running CIP; use data to determine CIP success.

Remain in work cell at all times during assigned shift.

Report out-of-range data and system alarms to System Technician with corrective action taken.

Additional Responsibilities

Keep floor area and equipment neat and clean; assist as needed in cleaning the process line.

Store non-essential equipment properly.

Monitor all areas of the process for spills and possible loading discharge to drains.

Other duties assigned by the System Technician.

Physical Requirements

Able to use ladders, work on elevated platforms and at different elevations. Must be able to see / differentiate all primary colors. Must be able to lift up to 40 pounds.
