About The Position

Description :

This part-time position requires the candidate to work 2 nights a week, with 10-hour shifts.

The role is within the Neurophysiology department.

The EEG Technologist will monitor patient safety and data for seizures.

In the event of a detected seizure, the technologist will contact the nurse immediately.

It is crucial to notate appropriate information on patient study.

The technologist will work in conjunction with a monitoring company to oversee multiple patients.

When there is a STAT hookup in the hospital or during breaks, the technologist will request the monitoring company to take over.

Effective communication with the reading fellow and physician is required when a STAT study is operational.

Familiarity with different procedure types such as routine EEGs and long-term monitoring EEGs is essential.

Equipment used includes Nihon Kohden and Natus systems.

The ideal candidate should have skills in EEG hookup, acquisition, and software troubleshooting.

They should be capable of reading basic EEG data and following seizure protocols.

Identifying artifacts and resolving issues by replacing electrodes or troubleshooting is necessary.

The technologist must be able to mark and clip data for physician review.

Communication with the on-call physician regarding clinical parameters must be clear and effective.

Candidates with Phase 2 experience will be given preference, although it is not required.
