What You'll Do

Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies, along with appropriate emergency response activities as needed.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, supporting a stable environment within the shelter location.

Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the shelter and its surrounding perimeter to help to deter unauthorized activities and / or disturbances.

Document and report all security-related incidents, observations, and interactions according to site protocols.

Work collaboratively with shelter staff and residents to promote a respectful and orderly atmosphere.

Monitor access points to the shelter location and help to deter trespassing or other unauthorized entry.

Remain alert to the unique needs and challenges presented by the shelter environment, adapting responses as necessary.

Minimum Requirements

Must have at least 1 year of security-related experience.

Must provide proof of high school diploma or equivalent (GED) as required by the client.

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Access control and / or badge experience is preferred.

Comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
