Job description

Job Opportunity

The City of Strongsville, OH is offering a part-time position with a salary of $14.00 hourly. This role is located in 44136, OH within the Recreation Department's Aquatics Division.

Examples of Duties :

  • Responsible for the safety and welfare of all persons using the facility.
  • Enforce all pool rules and the regulations governing the conduct of persons in the aquatics center in a friendly manner.
  • Rescue swimmers in distress or active drowning, and administers first aid in the event of injury.
  • Ability to administer first aid, including CPR and use of AED if necessary.
  • Assist in the cleaning and maintenance of the aquatics center.
  • Assist with the vacuuming of the pools.
  • Check equipment for safety and report any concerns.
  • Performs other duties as assigned by the Aquatics Supervisor and Head Guards.

Typical Qualifications :

  • Maintain the ability to swim 300 yards front crawl and / or breaststroke and retrieve a 10 lb. brick from a depth of 13 feet.
  • Must hold a current Lifeguard Certification from the American Red Cross or other accepted training organization.
