Position Overview

Position Summary

Eastern New Mexico University-Ruidoso is seeking a full-time mathematics faculty member who will also serve as the Department Chair of Mathematics. This is a leadership role that combines teaching responsibilities with administrative oversight of the department. The successful candidate will be expected to teach a full course load (12 credit hours per semester), maintain 10 hours of on-campus office hours weekly, and lead the department in areas such as curriculum development, part-time faculty supervision, assessment, scheduling, and student success initiatives. A consistent on-campus presence is required to support instruction, student engagement, and program coordination.

Duties and Responsibilities :

Teaching & Faculty Duties

• Teach a minimum of 12 credit hours per semester (fall and spring), with a strong emphasis on in-person instruction. Online formats may supplement but not replace live instruction.
• Maintain 10 posted office hours per week on campus to provide direct student support and collaborate with colleagues.
• Customize and update course syllabi and materials aligned with current curriculum goals.
• Design and deliver courses that meet Quality Matters (QM) standards; complete QM training within the first year of hire.
• Engage in student recruitment and retention activities.
• Submit all required documentation and reports on time, including syllabi, rosters, grades, and assessment data.
• Participate in campus committees and events.
