The
Heat Treat Operator
is responsible for processing metal parts through various heat-treating operations. You will operate furnaces, read blueprints, monitor heat cycles, and ensure all parts meet rigorous quality standards.
Key Responsibilities :
- Interpret blueprints, manuals, and work orders to determine processing requirements.
- Operate cranes and forklifts to safely load and unload parts into furnaces.
- Set and monitor furnace temperatures and heat cycles.
- Perform heat-treat operations including quenching, normalizing, tempering, and scrapping.
- Conduct hardness tests and detailed inspections on treated parts.
- Move parts between production stages as needed.
- Maintain accurate quality control and production records.
- Keep the work area clean and promote a culture of workplace safety.
Qualifications :
Experience :1+ year of machining, forging, or heat-treat experience preferred.Education :High School Diploma or GED preferred.Trade or vocational school training is a plus.Certifications :Forklift Certification (preferred).Certificate of Thermal Processing (preferred).Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 standards.Skills :Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.Proficient in basic shop math and using measurement tools (calipers, micrometers, scales).Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail.Ability to work independently or collaboratively as part of a team.Physical Requirements :
Ability to lift 50 lbs unassisted.Ability to stand for extended periods during the workday.Frequent use of hands, arms, and vision (close vision, distance vision, depth perception).Exposure to high noise levels, extreme heat, and airborne particles (PPE provided).What We Offer :
