Job descriptionImplement GitOps workflows for declarative application management using tools such as ArgoCD or Flux . Define, validate, and manage Kubernetes manifests, Helm charts, and CRDs. Automate application and infrastructure lifecycle management through declarative pipelines. Monitor and maintain cluster health, including networking, storage, and node availability. Implement self-healing, scaling, and failover strategies for hybrid deployments. Develop and maintain backup / restore, upgrade, and security hardening processes. Enable interoperability across ARM and x86 nodes within hybrid deployments. Configure workloads to leverage specialized accelerators (GPUs, DPUs, FPGAs). Ensure consistent declarative workflows regardless of underlying hardware architecture. Collaborate with DevOps, SRE, and PaaS teams to align K3s cluster deployments with platform goals. Document cluster provisioning, deployment flows, and operational playbooks. Provide training to internal teams on hybrid K3s management and declarative deployment practices. Proven hands-on experience with K3s / Kubernetes deployment and lifecycle management. Deep understanding of multi-node hybrid clusters across x86 , ARM , and accelerator architectures. Strong proficiency with GitOps tools (ArgoCD, Flux) and declarative deployment workflows. Experience with container runtimes ( containerd , CRI-O , Docker ). Proficiency in Linux OS , CNI networking , and CSI storage provisioning. Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Helm). Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills for cluster bring-up, networking, and workload scheduling.
K3s Engineer
Location : Portland, Oregon
Position Overview
The K3s Engineer will play a key role in managing and deploying Kubernetes (K3s) clusters across hybrid infrastructures including x86, ARM, and specialized accelerator environments. This position ensures that multi-node configurations are consistently provisioned, operated, and maintained to support declarative, GitOps-driven deployments. The role provides the technical foundation for higher-level PaaS services and developer self-service initiatives within Converix's platform.
Key Responsibilities :
Cluster Provisioning & Configuration
- Deploy and configure K3s clusters across heterogeneous hardware (bare metal, ARM / x86 nodes, accelerators).
- Manage hybrid, multi-node topologies (single-node edge clusters, dual-node HA, multi-node deployments).
- Define and maintain consistent OS images, networking, and storage configurations across nodes.
