Vice President, Provider Compensation
Corewell Health is seeking a Vice President, Provider Compensation. This role is responsible for overseeing the system employed provider compensation strategy and program, ensuring providers are compensated competitively, transparently, timely, and accurately. The Vice President, Provider Compensation will help drive the organization's market competitiveness and system alignment, focused on supporting provider experience, engagement, retention, as well as positioning the organization for future success in a changing healthcare landscape.
Essential Functions
- Leads, manages, and mentors a team to build and maintain a unified employed provider compensation program that enables team member engagement, retention, and attraction.
- Develops & maintains a standardized employed provider compensation function for the system, focusing on delivering accurate and timely payments to providers.
- Ensures provider compensation plans are competitive, cost-effective, drive a high-performance culture, and are aligned with current and future strategic direction.
- Partners with compliance and legal departments to develop & maintain plans / procedures that ensure a compliant employed provider compensation function that meets regulatory & compliance adherence.
- Partners with other Corewell Health shared services including but not limited to human resources, finance, revenue cycle, recruitment, legal, compliance, and clinical operations departments to ensure matters related to provider compensation are handled collaboratively and in alignment with system values and strategies.
- Advises regional executive teams as to how compensation plan design can be leveraged to achieve improved outcomes related to value-based care and population health initiatives.
- Inspires a culture of transparency and fairness through tailored and continuous communication; develops creative communication approaches appealing to multiple generations.
Candidate Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree. RequiredMaster's degree or equivalent combination of education and / or professional certifications (e.g., CPA, MBA)10 years of relevant experience leadership in finance, human resources, compensation, legal, compliance, or clinical operations. Required5 years of relevant experience Familiarity with provider compensation plans, compensation and productivity (e.g., wRVU) benchmarking, and regulatory requirements (such as Fair Market Value and Stark Law).
