Certifications : ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, Dysrhythmia certification required

Must-Have :

• Must work 2 of the 3 main holidays.
• No requested time off during the week between Christmas and New Year.

Description :

The orthopedic spine unit is a 26-bed telemetry capable unit providing specialized care for post-operative patients from spinal surgeries.

Care includes managing pain, physical therapy, and mobility support.

Patient ratio is generally 1 : 5, with a maximum of 1 : 6.

The unit sees some overflow patients for observation and MS / Tele.

Staff may be required to float to other units based on census concerns.

Staff will only float to units where they are qualified and have demonstrated competencies.

Daily census averages 15 patients with a range of diagnoses including medical surgical telemetry and cardiac issues.

Additional support services available include IV teams, physical therapy, and rapid response teams.

Special procedures performed include bedside lumbar punctures and post-surgical care.

Equipment used includes telemetry, pulse oximetry, and glucometers.
