Medical Assistants perform administrative and clinical duties under the direct supervision of a medical provider physician, physician assistant, or nurse practitioner in the medical office setting. Responsibilities of the role include :
- Taking patients to rooms
- Greeting patients
- Obtaining vital signs
- Scheduling appointments
- Assisting with medical procedures
- Answering phones
- Performing phlebotomy
- Clerical & computer work
- Prior authorizations
- Billing and coding
- Faxing
- Disability & Family and Medical Leave Act (FMLA) paperwork
- Adhering to safety and infection guidelines
- Maintaining electronic medical records (EMR)
- Calculating & administering medications & vaccinations

Required : Graduate of a medical assistant program (or) One year as a Medical AssistantDesired : One year as a Medical Assistant, Certified Medical Assistant
