Description :

Inspects, assembles, and evaluates all surgical instruments and instrument sets to ensure quality.

Determines need for repair or replacement and validates completeness of sets.

Facilitates effective sterilization processes.

Operates sterilization equipment and inspects instruments, equipment, and containers for cleanliness and proper functioning.

Performs decontamination of soiled instruments, sterilization containers, and equipment according to established protocols.

Corrects instrument sets according to current standards and established count sheets.

Maintains proper inventory levels to ensure availability for case carts.

Participates in assembly of case carts as needed.

Rotates through decontamination, preparation and assembly, steam, and low-temperature sterilization duties.

Works on a schedule that may include rotating ten-hour shifts or set shifts based on unit needs and availability.
