- Plans daily tasks and work schedules and assigns them to crew members
- Conducts daily tailgates and job safety / site analysis (JSA)
- Identifies and mitigates hazards
- Reads plans to understand the build
- Identifies scope changes and Change Orders and reports them to management immediately
- Interfaces professionally with subcontractors, safety personnel and customers who visit the work site
- Submits daily progress reports and time worked for all crew
- Submits all additional required reports and job closeout documentation on time
- Performs all tasks of lower tier Tower Techs as needed to facilitate a successful and timely job completion
- Promotes and leads safety initiatives by ensuring all crew members follow safety policies and procedures
- Delegates responsibilities for tasks evenly throughout the crew to ensure crew member development
- Trains and evaluates crew members
- Communicates crew needs and performance to management
- Manages employees. Ensures tasks and jobs are completed thoroughly and efficiently
- Maintains good housekeeping on site, in trailer, vehicles and warehouse
- Ensures bill of materials is correct per provided construction documents
- Informs management of any material issues immediately
- Promotes and develops teamwork amongst crew and other employees
Qualifications
Should have at least 5 years of experience climbing towersHigh school diploma or equivalentVerifiable work history and professional referencesProficient in industry test equipment such as PIM, Sweep and Fiber TestingAble to travel and work long hours / weekends as neededAble to work independently and as a member of various teams and committeesAble to work on projects with general direction and minimal guidanceStrong written and verbal communication skillsAble to manage priorities and workflowStrong organizational, problem-solving, decision making and analytical skillsVersatile, flexible, and willing to work within constantly changing prioritiesMicrosoft Office computer skillsMust pass a background check, drug test, and driving history checkNWSA TTT2 preferred but not requiredMust possess the following :Valid driver’s license, preferably Class C or aboveClimbing / Rescue certificationCompetent Rigging certificationFirst Aid / CPR certificationRF Awareness trainingOSHA 30NWSA TTT1Physical / Work Requirements
