Staffmark is hiring a Dispatcher for an established and growing logistics company in Houston, TX. If you've got at least two years of dispatching experience in the transportation industry and a passion for keeping operations on schedule, this temp-to-hire opportunity is your chance to thrive in a dynamic environment where your precision and communication skills make a real difference !

Pay & Hours

Pay Rate : $21.00 / hour

Shift Options :

  • 1st Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 5 : 00 PM
  • 3rd Shift : 10 : 00 PM - 7 : 00 AM

Employment Type : Temp-to-Hire

Your Day-to-Day Responsibilities

As a Dispatcher, you'll play a vital role in managing schedules, communication, and service flow for transportation operations. You'll keep everything running like a well-oiled machine.

  • Schedule and dispatch drivers, vehicles, and equipment using TRS, SAMSARA, and other internal systems
  • Relay work orders and updates to and from drivers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel
  • Coordinate solutions for en route issues and breakdowns
  • Maintain smooth communication with drivers and supervisors while ensuring service integrity
  • Track vacations and call-offs and update dispatch logs accordingly
  • Prepare reports and run schedules to meet contract and customer requirements
  • Deliver excellent customer service by addressing concerns and requests professionally

    What You Bring to the Table

  • At least 2 years of transportation dispatch experience
  • Strong understanding of logistics and DOT Hours of Service regulations
  • Proficient in clerical systems, Microsoft Office, and scheduling tools
  • Exceptional time management, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Willingness to work flexible hours and travel if needed
