American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU (CVICU) position requiring at least two years of recent CVICU experience and an active AZ or compact RN license.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
Work in a 12-bed Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit within an acute care settingPatient population includes acute cardiac cases such as AMI, CAD, PVD, and fresh post-open heart surgery patientsNurse-to-patient ratios are 1 : 2 or 1 : 1 based on acuityRequires titration of multiple drips including Dex, Propofol, Dopamine, Norepinephrine, Epinephrine, Levophed, Insulin, and CardeneSpecialized procedures and skill sets required include IABP, CRRT, and fresh open heart surgery patient care; Impella experience is preferredIn-room telemetry monitoring with Nihon Kohden monitors; RNs are responsible for reading stripsCerner EMR charting system is usedIntensivists are present in-house, with respiratory therapists available 24 / 7Scheduled 12-hour day shifts, with two weekend shifts required per pay periodFloating as needed to ICU, PCU, Med / Surg, and Telemetry units at both campusesOn-call requirements per contract, up to 3 per 12-week periodUnit-specific orientation provided and navy blue scrubs requiredRNs manage care for complex cardiovascular patients including those fresh from the operating roomResponsibilities include titrating drips, managing invasive lines and equipment, and performing advanced cardiac monitoringRNs are responsible for telemetry monitoring and strip interpretation on the unitOn-call assignments and floating to related critical care and step-down units may be required based on department needsMust complete and pass a sterile technique test for Foley catheter insertion and central line dressing changes during orientationHoliday coverage is requiredTravelers must maintain less than 7 requested days off and may not request time off on holidaysCandidates who fail required clinical exams twice will be ineligible for future assignments in the Arizona or Sacramento regions for six monthsTravel pairs must have their own vehicles and may have different schedules\n \n Requirements\n
Active AZ or compact RN license required at the time of considerationMinimum of two years of recent CVICU experience requiredCurrent ACLS and BLS certifications requiredAbility to independently manage advanced cardiovascular ICU patients and titrate critical dripsMust pass a dysrhythmia exam with a minimum score of 80% within two attempts prior to contract signingExperience with IABP, CRRT, and management of fresh open heart surgery patients required; Impella experience preferredCerner EMR experience preferredCandidates may not have held full-time, part-time, or PRN positions with any CommonSpirit affiliate (including CHI and Dignity) within the past yearMust reside at least 50 miles from the facility address for eligibilityCurrent driver’s license required for considerationTwo professional references required : one from a supervisor within the last 12 months and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, including employment dates and eligibility for rehire\n Benefits\n
