Job description

Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) Opportunity

Baylor Scott & White Institute for Rehabilitation in Killeen, TX is seeking a full-time Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) for outpatient hours varying from Monday to Friday, 7a-7p. Compensation is based on experience, starting at $26 per hour.

Responsibilities

The PTA will assist the therapist in :

Data collection including appropriate tests and measurements for initial evaluation

Implementation of the therapy plan of care for assigned patients

Progressing treatment techniques and procedures as patient's status changes

Identifying, responding, and reporting changes in patient's physical / mental status

Coordinating treatment program in conjunction with other clinical / therapeutic services

Patient education and development of comprehensive home programs

Preparing for patient discharge including ordering of necessary equipment

Assisting with direction of functional training classes and / or programs

Assigning routine tasks to aides and clerical staff

Demonstrating flexibility in caseload management

Managing individual, concurrent, and group treatment sessions

Qualifications

To qualify, the PTA must :

Hold a valid state license to practice as a Physical Therapist Assistant

Graduate from an approved school for Physical Therapist Assistants and pass a national examination

Complete BLS certification within the first 90 days
