Senior Mechanical Engineer

Overview

Handles projects from start to finish 100% with little to no oversight. Senior Engineers tackle our most complex projects. Provides oversight, mentorship, guidance and training to others.

Job Summary

• Write scope of work for mechanical design based on preliminary review and meetings with the client
• Solve complex technical issues on projects, progressing from basic design work assignments to more complicated and involved projects
• Assess the requirements of a project, break a project into tasks, and work with a Project Manager to determine the scope of work, budget, and staffing
• Prepare engineering studies and schematic design for new systems
• Analyze operation of existing systems
• Based on knowledge of applicable building codes, work with code officials and other design professionals when an interpretation or exception to building codes is required
• Assign and review work of project design team
• Coordinate all aspects of project document completion within company and externally with clients and other design professionals. Review contractor application for payments
• Prepare or review construction budgets based on experience and scope of project
• Supervise staff on multiple projects, provide assertive management, technical leadership and support to team members, verify that all work is completed as planned and scheduled in compliance with client, and company quality assurance practices
