An educational health-services program is seeking a Substitute Registered Nurse (RN) to provide flexible coverage for student medical needs and health interventions. The ideal candidate holds an active PA RN license, demonstrates strong clinical skills, and is comfortable working across different school sites.

Responsibilities / Duties :

Provide nursing care during substitute assignments : administer medications, perform health assessments, monitor and document student conditions

Respond to student medical emergencies, follow school health protocols, and communicate outcomes to appropriate health staff or families

Assist with screening programs (vision / hearing / height / weight), maintain immunization records and support coordination of referrals

Monitor and manage chronic health conditions (e.g., asthma, diabetes, allergies) according to care plans and collaborate with school staff and families

Maintain documentation in student health records, ensure confidentiality, and comply with state / federal regulations

Adapt to varying school environments, grade levels, and schedules as needed

Qualifications / Desired Experience :

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Pennsylvania

Previous experience in school nursing, pediatric or adolescent health settings preferred

Strong assessment, documentation, and communication skills

Dependability, flexibility for substitute assignments, and professional demeanor
