Registered Pharmacy Technician

Pride Health is currently seeking candidates for a Pharmacy Technician to provide support to our client’s healthcare system in Houston, Texas. This is a 13-week contract, evening-shift role with the potential for extension, offering an excellent opportunity to work in a hospital-based pharmacy setting.

📍 Location: Houston, TX

🕒 Shift: 3:00 PM – 11:30 PM

📆 Duration: 13 weeks

💰 Pay Rate: $1,480 weekly gross

Job Summary

The Pharmacy Technician assists the pharmacist in the preparation, compounding, repackaging, filling, and delivery of medications for patients ranging from pediatric to adult populations. This role supports safe and accurate medication dispensing while adhering to hospital policies, infection control standards, and regulatory requirements.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Assist the pharmacist with medication preparation, compounding, repackaging, filling, and delivery
• Support procurement, record keeping, storage, and distribution of controlled substances
• Accurately enter patient information including diagnosis, weight, allergies, and body surface area
• Follow aseptic technique and infection control practices for sterile product preparation
• Complete annual aseptic technique and infection control recertification (minimum 90% score required)
• Ensure accuracy of prepared medications as verified by the pharmacist
• Demonstrate competency in batch, medication, and prescription order entry
• Maintain adequate medication and supply inventory in coordination with Pharmacy Support Services
• Obtain pharmacist checks and apply appropriate dilution and expiration labels

Requirements

• Registered Pharmacy Technician with Texas State Board of Pharmacy OR Pharmacy Intern (State Board of Pharmacy)
• Strong math, reading, and communication skills
• Ability to operate equipment used in sterile product preparation
• Knowledge of hospital and departmental pharmaceutical handling standards

Preferred:

• CPhT (Pharmacy Technician Certification Board)
• IV sterile compounding certification (preferred, not required)
