Position Summary
The scope of work for the position is to guide, train, and assist with directing the job tasks as well as perform construction and related functions such as, but not limited to, the essential duties listed below.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- General Excavation utilizing earth moving equipment (Backhoes / Mini Excavators) on or around Pipelines and other underground utilities
- Backfill and compaction
- Lead assigned projects, crews, and company equipment
- Work independently or with crews
- Drive company vehicle responsibly and also perform regular maintenance, cleaning of vehicle and equipment
- Perform Job Safety Analysis on daily basis
- Fill and turn in Field / Project / Safety documents by paper or digitally
- Represent ACCI and interact with clients to provide customer service
- Project, material, equipment and crew coordination
- Report job status to Foreman / Field Supervisor / Project Manager
- Visual inspections of company DOT vehicles and equipment
Construction duties in the following areas :
Use of hand and power tools to dig around existing utility structures to prevent damagesEngages in general basic electrical work (low voltage, wiring and testing)Reading and following project documentation and instructionsOperation of small construction equipmentUse of voltage metersPipeline / Utility structure locatingLoad and unload equipment and materialsExcavation and potholingUnderground and above ground conduit workLow voltage wiringInstallation of electrical panelsKeep worksite clean and organized free from hazardsLifting and handling 50+ lbs. material bagsPerform Cathodic Protection / Corrosion prevention tasks and services for gas, oil, and water pipelines and facilities, including power company facilitiesAdditional duties :
Maintain all industry required Operator QualificationsDriving company DOT vehiclesAdditional duties may be assignedPerform other responsibilities as requested by leadershipSupervisory Responsibilities
This position does not have supervisory responsibilitiesEducation and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent requiredBackhoe / Earth Moving Operating – MINIMUM 4 years' experience required4 years or greater of Construction field experience preferredStrong Desire to learn a new tradeValid driver's license and acceptable driving record per insurance requirementsMust pass pre-employment DOT drug screening and physical as well as being subject to random drug testing throughout employmentMust pass client required Operator’s Qualifications (“OQ”)Knowledge / Skills / Abilities
Proven experience operating heavy machinery to excavate underground pipelines or utilities required.Must have ability to work and communicate with all levels of employees and ClientsAbility to perform work unsupervisedMechanical and Electrical aptitude preferredOperating construction power tools and equipment experience preferredObtain and pass OSHA 30 training requiredObtain and pass other safety trainings / certificationsAbility to read, write, and communicate in English to ensure safe and efficient operationsResponsible and self-motivatedCommitment to doing quality work while putting safety firstPhysical Demands and Work Environment
Frequent travel required (with overnight stay)Frequent overtime requiredWork outdoors in various climates including extreme weather conditionsAbility to work in prolonged and repeated : lifting up to 50 lbs. or more, standing, climbing, kneeling, reaching, feeling, crouching and crawling.Ability to physically and visually follow worksite safety instructionsWork is performed with a medium to high risk of potential industry hazards and heavy equipmentDriving a vehicle to and from work sites in all types of weather conditions and in heavy traffic and / or at nightFull-Time Position
