POSITION : Quality Assurance Specialist
LOCATION : East Hanover NJ
HOURS : 9 : 00AM- 5 : 00PM Mon-Fri (Nights and weekends as needed)
SALARY : Commensurate with experience

SUMMARY :
The Quality Assurance Specialist supports agency wide program needs related to quality, policy, and training improvements for service recipients with developmental disabilities. This role involves on-site monitoring through Bergen, Essex and surrounding counties, auditing service documentation, and participating in Individual Service Plans to ensure compliance with state standards. Candidates should have strong critical, analytical and communication skills as well as demonstrate a genuine passion for and commitment to the well-being of those we serve.
RESPONSIBILITIES & ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Partners to support DDD / DOE program needs focusing on quality, policy and training improvements.
- Provides on-site monitoring, support and training at group homes, day programs and other Pillar programs to ensure State Licensing and Pillar Care standards are met.
- Audits service documentation to ensure they meet State Licensing and Pillar Care standards and to assist in the continuous quality improvement of programs.
- Participates in Individual Service Plans (ISPs) to ensure quality content and DDD compliance.
- Collaborates with Operations / Facilities on Safety Inspections, development of recommendations for improvement and follow up.
- Perform quality checks on the Electronic Health Record (EHR) for data integrity and report back to Program on findings.
- Assists in the preparation of required programmatic monthly, quarterly, and annual reports.
- Conducts and reports on internal investigations and the delivery of program training to address deficits and develop staff.
- Performs other related tasks as assigned by supervisor.
KNOWLEDGE / SKILLS :
Knowledge of issues relating to the field and service provision to individuals with developmental disabilities.Knowledge of analysis, evaluation and reporting proceduresMust be computer savvy with an understanding of MS Office.Strong communication skills and ability to convey information to others clearly, concisely and logically.Respect and maintain confidentiality.Establish and maintain proper working relationships with program managers and directors, consumers, caregivers, parents, supervisors, co-workers and staffMaintain a safe working environment.Adhere to ethical standards, policies, procedures and health and safety precautions.QUALIFICATIONS :
College degree in social work & / or nursing license preferred or equivalent work experience.1-3 years’ experience in the area of quality / risk management.Able to analyze data collection forms, methods, procedures, techniques and workflow to identify and resolve problems.Extensive knowledge of and direct experience in the field of developmental disabilities including experience in the monitoring and / or evaluation of clinical or human services records and / or programs.Demonstrated knowledge and abilities as outlined above.Reliable transportation required.9am-5pm (Monday - Friday)
