Job descriptionImplement and maintain job costing systems for active development projects Track construction costs, development expenses, and project profitability Coordinate with project managers to ensure accurate allocation of costs to specific developments Monitor draw requests and construction loan compliance requirements Prepare project completion reports and final cost summaries Prepare various tax returns including corporate income tax, partnership returns, and property tax filings Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local tax regulations Assist with tax planning strategies and work with external tax advisors Maintain supporting documentation for all tax positions and filings Handle sales tax compliance for development activities Maintain and optimize QuickBooks Enterprise system for multiple entities Develop and maintain Excel-based financial models and reporting templates Create and update accounting policies and procedures Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes Support annual audit processes and coordinate with external CPA firm Provide financial analysis to support management decision-making Assist with loan applications and provide financial data to lenders Support due diligence processes for potential acquisitions or partnerships Maintain organized filing systems for financial records and supporting documentation Perform other duties as assigned by management Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience Real estate development or construction accounting experience required Public accounting experience preferred Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency including pivot tables, VLOOKUP, complex formulas, and financial modeling Expert-level QuickBooks experience (QuickBooks Enterprise strongly preferred) Demonstrated tax preparation experience including corporate and partnership returns Strong understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) Experience with multi-entity consolidations and intercompany transactions Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Proficiency in meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment Professional demeanor and ability to maintain confidential information CPA certification or active pursuit of certification Experience with construction draws and loan compliance Knowledge of 1031 like-kind exchanges Familiarity with property management software Experience with cost segregation studies Understanding of real estate syndication accounting Ability to sit for extended periods while working at a computer Manual dexterity for keyboard and mouse usage Visual acuity for detailed financial analysis and document review Occasional lifting of files and materials up to 25 pounds Professional office environment Occasional site visits to development properties may be required Standard business hours with occasional overtime during busy periods Collaborative team environment with cross-functional interaction Annual salary range : $80,000 - $90,000, commensurate with experience and qualifications Comprehensive health insurance (medical, dental, vision) 401(k) retirement plan with company matching Paid time off and holiday pay Life insurance and disability coverage Professional development opportunities Flexible work arrangements (as applicable)

POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Accountant will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of our development projects from inception to completion. This position requires a detail-oriented professional with strong real estate accounting experience who can handle the complexities of multiunit development accounting, including job costing, project tracking, and comprehensive financial reporting.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIESFinancial Management & Reporting
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for multiple entities and development projects
- Maintain detailed general ledger accounts and perform monthly account reconciliations
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes, ensuring timely processing and accuracy
- Manage cash flow projections and monitor project-specific budgets
- Prepare variance analysis reports comparing actual vs. budgeted performance
