Position Summary :
The Education Coordinator at MS Middle School 135 Campus will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing educational programs for middle school participants in an after-school setting. This role involves creating a supportive and enriching environment that promotes academic, social, and emotional growth. The coordinator will work closely with program & school staff and community partners to ensure the program meets the needs of the participants.
Responsibilities :
Program Development and Implementation :
- Design and implement educational activities and curricula that align with the needs and interests of middle school participants.
- Ensure programs are age-appropriate, culturally responsive, and aligned with school standards.
- Integrate technology and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning experiences.
- Evaluate staff performance and provide constructive feedback.
Participant Support and Engagement :
Foster a positive and inclusive environment that encourages participant participation and engagement.Monitor participant progress and provide feedback to SONYC Program Director.Collaboration and Communication :
Build and maintain strong relationships with program & school staff and community organizations.Coordinate with school teachers and administrators to align after-school activities with school curriculum.Program Administration :
Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, policies, and standards.Maintain accurate records and prepare reports on program activities and outcomes.Education :
Bachelor’s degree in Education, Child Development, or a related field. Master’s degree preferred.Experience :
Minimum of 3 years of experience in education, youth development, or a related field.Experience working with middle school-aged children in an educational or after-school setting.Salary : $44 per hour, 18 hours per week in July & Aug (hours worked must be between 9am-4pm Mon-Thurs and Fri 9am-5pm), 30 hours per week Sept-June (hours worked must be between 1pm-5pm)
