Job Title : Plumbing Apprentice

Reports To : Roving Maintenance Supervisor
FLSA Status : Non-Exempt
Pay Scale : $20hr- $24hr
Position Summary :
The Plumbing Apprentice assists the plumbing and maintenance team in performing installation, repair, and maintenance of plumbing systems throughout multifamily properties. This position is designed for individuals looking to gain hands-on experience while learning the trade under the supervision of the Roving team Plumber.
Key Responsibilities :
- Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of plumbing systems including water lines, drain lines, fixtures, and appliances.
- Support preventive maintenance and respond to service requests across apartment units and common areas.
- Help troubleshoot plumbing issues such as leaks, clogs, and low water pressure.
- Learn and apply proper safety procedures and use of plumbing tools and equipment.
- Assist with regular maintenance across the portfolio including but not limited to Electrical, HVAC, Carpentry, and routine maintenance.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area and ensure proper disposal of materials.
- Assist in documenting completed work orders and reporting any follow-up needs to the supervisor.
- Communicate professionally with residents, property managers, and maintenance staff.
- Follow company standards and local codes to ensure compliance and quality workmanship.
Qualifications :
High school diploma or GED required.Previous maintenance or plumbing experience preferred but not required.Ability to use basic hand and power tools safely.Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn.Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and work in various environments (indoors / outdoors, confined spaces).Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license preferred.Training & Advancement :
On-the-job training provided by plumber and senior maintenance staff.Opportunity for growth into a Plumber and Maintenance Technician role, including hands-on experience with HVAC systems, Electrical systems, and basic Maintenance across multiple sites.Company may support apprenticeship licensing or certification programs.Work Environment :
This position involves work in occupied and unoccupied apartment units, outdoors, and in maintenance shops. Some after-hours or on-call work may be required to respond to plumbing emergencies.
