Responsibilities Work in the ICU / Advanced Care Unit (ACU / CCU) with a 20-bed capacity Patient population includes CHF, respiratory distress, ACS, A-fib RVR, DM, blood product administration, post-cath patients, and some surgical cases Typical ICU patient ratio is 2 : 1, occasionally 1 : 1 depending on acuity Travelers required to float to Telemetry, Med-Surg, and Neurology-Medical units as needed 12-hour night shifts (1900-0730) with every other weekend and holiday rotation Uses Epic EMR, Alaris IV pumps, Omnicell medication dispensing, and Phillips monitors Daily responsibilities include caring for critical medical and surgical patients, administering drips, and monitoring telemetry strips Strong unit support includes 24 / 7 hospitalist, respiratory therapy, phlebotomy, and telemetry tech Charge nurse does not carry a patient assignment and responds to codes and RRT Orientation includes hospital onboarding and two unit-based shifts RNs may wear any color of scrubs as long as they are professional Up to 7 days of approved time off is allowed Requirements Active WA or compact RN license required; pending license may be accepted with proof of application Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Minimum 2 years of ICU RN experience required Must have completed at least one previous travel assignment (first-time travelers not accepted) Experience with chest tubes, wound vacs, dressing changes, and monitoring femoral arterial sheaths is required Preferred experience with arterial lines, Impella, and / or IABP devices Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-628118.
