Cath Lab Technologist

Location : Alamogordo, NM

Shift : 4x10-Hour Days | On-call every other weekend (Fri 16 : 00–Mon 05 : 59) | Full Time

Requirements

State licensure required (NM : RRT, CS, DMS, FUS, or VS by MIRTP NMED)

Certifications : BLS, ACLS, PALS (AHA)

One of the following certifications required :

RCIS or RCES (CCI)

RCS (CCI)

ARRT : CI, CV, or VI

Education : Graduate from accredited Radiologic Tech program or Associate’s in healthcare; Bachelor’s preferred

Experience : 0–1 year (acute care preferred)

Job Summary

The Cath Lab Technologist supports all cardiac catheterization and interventional procedures, ensuring accurate imaging, documentation, and patient safety. Responsible for operating imaging and hemodynamic systems, maintaining aseptic technique, and collaborating with physicians and nurses to deliver exceptional care.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare lab, verify equipment functionality, and stock supplies

Scrub, circulate, and monitor procedures (cardiac, EP, structural)

Operate X-ray, IVUS, ICE, contrast injector, and hemodynamic systems

Maintain radiation safety standards and aseptic technique

Document procedures, patient data, and hemodynamic readings

Participate in team collaboration, patient transport, and quality initiatives

Additional Details

Weekend / Call : Every other weekend on-call

Float : May float to Interventional Radiology (IR)

Patient Ratio : 1 : 1 or 1 : 2 based on daily assignments
