Overview

Partnered with a facility in southwest North Dakota with an opportunity for a General Surgeon to assist their team.

About the Opening

  • Trauma Level : IV
  • Schedule : 24-hour call, 10 shifts per month
  • 25 beds
  • Daily Census : 15 patients, 0-5 procedures per call shift
  • Procedures : Abdominal, endoscopy, liver, stomach, gallbladder, appendix, colon, laparoscopy, spleen
  • Preferred Procedures : Vascular, pediatrics, pulmonary, thyroid
  • Must be available for phone consults, admissions, and rounding on general surgery patients
  • Board certification required
  • Paid travel & lodging

Qualifications

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)
  • National Institutes of Health (NIH)
  • Sound knowledge of anatomy, physiology, pathology, and medical terminology.
  • Active unencumbered Physicians / Surgeon North Dakota state license
  • Graduate from a fully accredited Physicians / Surgeon program
  • One year of work experience as Physicians / Surgeon
  • One year of EMR experience
  • Board Certified

    • Skills / Abilities / Competencies Required

  • Maintains and updates clinical knowledge and skills.
  • Participates in relevant continuing education programs.
  • Knowledge of and dedication to the highest patient care and provide the utmost service excellence to all patients.
  • Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgment, decision-making and problem-solving expertise.
  • A can-do, team oriented attitude is essential, as the ability to work independently and to interact easily with physicians, other managers and staff throughout the department and hospital.
  • Effective interpersonal / communication, organizational, and the flexibility to handle multiple tasks.
