Candidates must have experience in overseeing high-risk deliveries and managing postpartum care. The nurse will assist with sterile examinations and supports mothers during and after childbirth. Knowledge of handling neonatal risks and providing adequate newborn care is essential. The environment is fast-paced, requiring quick decision-making and excellent communication skills. Familiarity with protocols related to amnioinfusion, pain management, and various obstetric emergencies is important. The nurse will participate in patient education, including breastfeeding support and discharge teaching. Additional responsibilities include administering medications, monitoring fetal heart rates, and performing cesarean section circulatory duties. Collaboration with interdisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive patient care is crucial.
