Residential Based Support Community Living

Direct Support Professional / Behavior Technician

Average Pay : $23.04 - $25.08 per hour (blended between regular and premium pay rates).

Base wage range : $19.75-$21.50 / hour

Earn premium pay pay for weekend hours (1.5 times your base wage!)

Wed, Fri 6AM-7PM, Sat 7AM-7PM

  • Wed 6AM-7PM, Thur, Sat 8AM-8PM

  • Mon, Tue, Sun 7AM-7PM
  • PLEASE NOTE : Hours scheduled during the Mon-Fri timeframe will be working in our ABA clinic from 8AM-1 : 30PM.

    Step into an exhilarating career as a DSP / BT at Hills & Dales Child Development Center! In this dynamic role, you will support children under the age of 17 living in community-based group homes, making a genuine impact in their daily lives. You'll provide direct care in the home environment, ensuring they are supported in a person-centered manner. Additionally, you'll work in our state-of-the-art ABA clinic, engaging in therapy sessions specifically designed for clients with autism and autism spectrum disorders.

    To thrive as a DSP / BT at Hills & Dales Child Development Center, you will need a range of essential skills and abilities. A high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with the physical capability to lift or move items up to 35 lbs and perform unassisted transfers using adaptive equipment like gait belts and Hoyer lifts. Maintaining a valid driver's license and reliable transportation is crucial for transporting clients safely. Additionally, you must provide proof of valid vehicle insurance as per company policy.

    The role often involves navigating a dynamic environment that may be crowded and noisy, requiring you to adapt quickly to changing tasks and circumstances. Being able to handle interpersonal relations is vital, as you may encounter challenging behaviors, including verbal or physical aggression from clients. Your resourcefulness and ability to remain calm under pressure will be key to providing the best support for the children you serve.

    Knowledge and skills required for the position are :

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Ability to lift or move items up to 35lbs and perform unassisted transfers with adaptive equipment (gait belt, Hoyer lifts, etc.).
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license.
  • Must have and maintain reliable transportation to transport clients.
  • Must provide proof of valid vehicle insurance per company policy.
  • Ability to adapt in a position which can be stressful due to the amount and nature of interpersonal relations, the need to change tasks often and the need to assist clients who may use verbal or physical aggression toward staff, self, or other clients. The environment may be crowded. noisy. and have frequent distractions
