Position description
The Academic Coordinator II will contribute to the graduate educational mission of the School of Public Health (SPH) through the academic leadership of the On-Campus / Online Professional MPH (OOMPH) Program, a self-sustaining graduate professional degree program (SSGDP) that is revenue-generating and enrolls domestic and international working professionals.
This professional MPH degree is largely online and continues to address an acute shortage of trained public health professionals in California and the nation. The program provides an alternative, high-quality graduate education for people unable to undertake a full-time, residential MPH program through a hybrid On-Campus / Online model designed to strike a balance of residential and online learning activities that respect the constraints that preclude frequent travel to the Berkeley campus.
The OOMPH Program is designed specifically for employed mid-level professionals in public health agencies, non-profit community organizations, foundations, environmental health agencies, and health insurance plans who do not yet have formal public health training, as well as physicians, nurses, and other health professionals working in hospitals and health systems.
The position will lead the development, delivery, and evaluation of online courses in SPH and oversee the academic milestones for OOMPH students, including the Integrated Learning Experience and Applied Practice Experience. This position is responsible for the educational quality and student experience in the On-Campus / Online Professional MPH (OOMPH) Program and for all learners in SPH online courses.
