Our client, a leading employee-owned mechanical contractor with nearly a century of industry excellence, is seeking a Mechanical Construction Project Manager to join their San Diego team. This role is responsible for managing mechanical construction projects from preconstruction through closeout , ensuring they are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to the company's high standards of performance .
Duties & Responsibilities
- Lead all phases of assigned mechanical construction projects, ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and performance objectives.
- Oversee field operations, including labor productivity, coordination, and quality assurance.
- Manage all financial aspects of projects, including forecasting, cost control, billing, and cash flow.
- Coordinate the procurement of materials, equipment, and subcontractor services.
- Administer change orders, maintain accurate project documentation, and ensure compliance with contractual requirements.
- Foster strong client relationships through consistent communication and proactive problem-solving.
- Supervise and mentor team members, promoting accountability, professional growth, and collaboration.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and safety programs.
- Perform other related duties as required to support successful project delivery.
Qualifications & Requirements
Education & ExperienceBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management , or related field preferred.
Minimum 5-7 years of experience managing mechanical construction projects, preferably within the commercial or industrial sectors.Demonstrated success managing complex projects from preconstruction through closeout.Technical ProficiencySkilled in Bluebeam Revu , Vista-Viewpoint (Project Management & Accounting) , and QuoteSoft Estimating Software .
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Project, Access, PowerPoint).Core CompetenciesExceptional organizational, planning, and multitasking abilities.
