Job description

PSD Family Advocate for Tribal Attendance Promising Practices

Salaried position through June 8, 2026

Contract Days : 184 plus attendance to any workshops, meetings or trainings as required by the TAPP grant and ODE.

Salary : $43,441 yearly (Salary is pro-rated based on the start date of the 184 contracted days).

Benefits : District contribution of $1,850 per month for Insurance premiums for medical, dental, vision. Life and Accidental insurance

Responsibilities :

  • Track attendance of all Native American students at Sunridge Middle School.
  • Be a family advocate to connect the school to the home and home to the school, work with families to improve their child's attendance.
  • Make home visits and phone calls on a daily basis to students who are absent from school.
  • Plan and run afterschool tutoring and other programs at Sunridge Middle School.
  • Work in partnership with the school staff to plan and hold TAPP family nights.
  • Help plan and organize culturally responsible teaching practices training for staff.
  • Work in close partnership with the Confederated Tribes of the Umatilla Indian Reservation's various departments : Ed Department, Title VI, Yellowhawk, etc.
