About The Position

Job Title : CVOR RN

Shift : 8H Days

Hours per Shift : 6 : 00 AM - 2 : 30 PM or 2 : 00 PM - 10 : 30 PM, Monday through Friday with call

Experience : Minimum 2 years full-time experience

License : Active nursing license

Certifications : ACLS, BLS

Must-Have : Experience in scrubbing required for CVOR

Description :

Unit has 6 suites plus a hybrid room.

Average number of cases per day is 20-30.

Common cases include total joints, general surgery, spine, urology, and cardiovascular for the open heart team.

A charge nurse and specialty leads are available as a resource.

A house supervisor is on-site 24 / 7.

Scrub techs are available in the operating room.

Electronic medical record system used is Cerner.

Weeknight call requirement for general OR is 4-5 nights and for CVOR is 5-10 weeknights every 6 weeks.

CVOR call can be up to 50% of the time.

Weekend requirement includes 5-12 hour shifts for general OR and 2 weekends every 6 weeks for CVOR.

Holidays require 2-3 shifts per year.

Call is divided equally among staff in the same role.

Response time for call is 30 minutes.

Staff may be floated to assist with non-procedural tasks, though this is rare.

Provided scrubs are the required dress code.

Unit-specific orientation of 3-5 shifts will be provided based on case load and exposure.
