Titration of insulin drips

Feeding tube care and management

Continuous bladder irrigation (CBI)

Pre / Post hemodialysis management

Blood product administration

Central line care / management

Peripheral line care / management

PICC line management

Starting IVs

Heparin protocols

Manage cardiac drips (no titration)

PCA

Substance withdrawal

Surgical drains

Care of ventilated patients

Chest tubes (Emerson / PleurEvac)

External CPAP / BIPAP

High flow nasal cannula (HFNC)

Nasal cannula

Oxygen face masks

Portable oxygen tank

Non-invasive airway management

Tracheostomy management

Isolation precautions

Wound care / Wound vac

Description :

The position requires managing patients with acute respiratory failure, CHF, COPD exacerbation, pneumonia, sepsis, pulmonary fibrosis, and ILD.

Duties include interpreting and managing dysrhythmias, administering blood products, and caring for patients with feeding tubes and surgical drains.

The nurse will participate in the management of hemodialysis and will work with various types of respiratory equipment.

The night staffing ratios are expected to be 6-7 to 1, with an anticipated stretch to 8-10 if staffing issues arise.

There is an in-house phlebotomy team for peripheral lab draws.

The nurse will float to other units as needed, but they will not practice outside of their scope.

Weekend coverage is required, and the nurse will be part of a rapid response team when activated.
