PRIMARY FUNCTION / PURPOSE :
The Assistant Regional Director of Security and Operations (ARDSO) supports the Regional Director of Security and Operations (RDSO) in providing oversight of CRF’s security and facility operations across all programs. The ARDSO assists in ensuring that all facilities maintain compliance with legal, regulatory, and contractual standards while promoting a safe, secure, and professional environment for staff and clients. The position plays a key role in staff training, site visits, performance monitoring, and operational support to enhance efficiency and consistency across multiple sites.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice, Security Management, Business Administration, or relevant experience in related field required
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in security or facility operations, with at least 3 years in a supervisory or leadership capacity
- Active Security License, Fire and Life Safety Director Certificate, F80 Fire Guard Certification, First Aid / CPR Certification, and valid Driver’s License required
- Demonstrated knowledge of facility security operations, emergency response procedures, and compliance requirements
- Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills with the ability to motivate diverse teams
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and security management systems
- Ability to analyze operational issues and implement effective solutions in high-pressure environments
- Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Organizational Support and OversightConduct regular site visits (often during off hours) across all shifts to evaluate facility conditions, staff performance, and compliance with security and operational protocolsAssist the Regional Director of Security and Operations (RDSO) in ensuring consistent application of organizational safety and security policies across all facilitiesCollaborate with Directors of Building Operations (DBOs) and Program Directors to confirm that security practices align with contractual, regulatory, and organizational standardsProvide operational support during emergencies, inspections, and special events to ensure readiness, coordination, and adherence to safety proceduresTraining and DevelopmentAssist in planning, organizing, and conducting staff training sessions, including Crisis Prevention Intervention (CPI), de-escalation techniques, ethics, confidentiality, and fire safety proceduresSupport the development and implementation of professional development programs for security staff to promote skill enhancement and compliance with certification requirementsTrack and monitor completion of required trainings and certifications (e.g., CPR, Security Licenses, Fire Guard F-80 / F-89)Contract and Security ManagementAssist the RDSO in overseeing contracted security vendors to ensure appropriate staffing levels, professionalism, and adherence to established post ordersReview security logs, incident reports, and equipment maintenance records to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with agency standardsSupport facility audits by verifying that licenses, safety documentation, and compliance files are properly maintainedParticipate in facility walkthroughs to identify potential safety hazards, ensure fire safety compliance, and communicate findings for corrective actionContinuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Risk ManagementPartner with DBOs and Quality Assurance teams to assess facility vulnerabilities and assist in developing corrective action plansFacilitate retrieval and review of CCTV footage as requested by leadership or regulatory agenciesContribute to the evaluation of existing security systems and recommend upgrades or procedural enhancements as neededAssist the RDSO in analyzing incident trends and implementing strategies to reduce risks and strengthen overall security operationsStaff Supervision and LeadershipProvide guidance and support to Site Security Supervisors and DBOs on day-to-day operational and security mattersAssist in evaluating staff performance, identifying areas for improvement, and supporting performance management plans as neededFoster effective communication and collaboration among interdisciplinary teams to promote a cohesive and responsive organizational cultureSECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in the preparation of reports and documentation for funders, auditors, and regulatory bodiesParticipate in departmental meetings, inter-agency collaborations, and senior leadership discussions as assignedServe as acting Regional Director in the absence of the RDSO, maintaining operational continuity and oversightSupport organizational initiatives related to safety, emergency management, and operational excellenceOTHER REQUIREMENTS (Including Physical Demands)
