Responsibilities Work in a combined 30-bed medical-surgical unit and 8-bed progressive care unit with the ability to flex up to 41 beds Care provided for a diverse pulmonary patient population, including both non-COVID and COVID cases Average patient diagnoses include pneumonia, COPD, CHF, COVID-19, pulmonary embolism, and complex respiratory conditions Patient ratios are 1 : 4 / 5 on day shifts and 1 : 5 / 6 on night shifts in Med-Surg; 1 : 3 in Pulmonary Acute for IMC RNs Mechanical ventilation, non-invasive ventilation, oxygen therapy, IV medication administration, and cardiac monitoring performed Uses Epic for documentation, Alaris pumps for IV fluids, and Acudose for medication administration Required to float to Med-Surg units with travelers given first reassignment Day / night rotating 12-hour shifts with every other weekend and holiday required Responsibilities include respiratory and telemetry assessments, administering specialized therapies, monitoring during bronchoscopies, and providing postoperative care Comprehensive unit-specific orientation and competency validation provided during first three shifts including mechanical ventilation and telemetry Supportive team culture focused on patient safety, quality care, and professional development Dress code requires navy blue scrubs Must badge in and out at the facility Assignment is open to local candidates; addresses within 80 miles are considered local Travelers with prior employment at this health system must have a minimum six-month separation before consideration Requirements Active SD or compact state RN license required Minimum of 2 years recent Med / Surg Tele experience Current BLS and ACLS certifications (AHA required) Proficiency in Bipap, Cpap, heated high flow, oxygen titration, moderate sedation, telemetry, and medical-surgical patient care Epic charting system experience preferred Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-630112.
