Equity Research Associate Targeted Oncology
This individual will work closely with senior equity research professionals to assist in preparing and executing analyses of functional areas within the therapeutics industry. At least one year of finance experience strongly preferred. Primary duties and responsibilities include :
- Collect and analyze data related to therapeutics and various diseases, including scientific papers, clinical data, and prescription trends
- Draft market research surveys and analyze results
- Interview company executives or medical / industry consultants to develop and maintain sources of information in preparation of analyses
- Build, update and maintain financial models
- Formulate investment recommendations based on fundamental analysis, valuation and risk assessment of individual companies
- Write research reports and notes on companies for distribution to the Leerink sales force and institutional clients
- Keep current of market news
- Answer inquiries from firm personnel and external clients
- Support senior equity research professionals by attending events of special interest
Experience and qualifications required include :
Qualified candidates will possess a BS or BA, and demonstrated financial experiencePrior business experience : at least one year of consulting experience at a leading healthcare consulting firm (preferred); or one year of industry business development experience at a leading pharmaceutical or biotechnology firm; or one year of investment banking analyst training in healthcare at a recognized investment banking firmFamiliarity and knowledge of the biotechnology and pharmaceutical industries including clinical development, regulatory affairs, business development and commercializationExcellent written and verbal communication skillsAbility to search, understand and interpret scientific and medical publicationsStrong quantitative, financial modeling, forecasting and Excel skillsGeneral understanding of statistical analysis techniquesEqual Employment Opportunity :
